Omni Federal launches SABER Portal to support Air Force Strategic Air & Space Basing activities

Updated: May 7

Omni Federal (Omni) is thrilled to announce the launch of the Air Force’s Strategic Air & Space Basing Enterprise Repository (SABER) web portal application to simplify the overall business process associated with coordinating Strategic Basing activities at Secretary of the Air Force Office of Energy, Installations, and Environment (SAF/IE) . SABER’s launch on the Cloud One environment will enable an entirely digital Strategic Basing process facilitating movement of resources across the Department of Air Force globally. Benefits of SABER include collaboration across stakeholders, eliminating manual efforts, increased transparency, and critical auditing capabilities.

Omni followed our Discovery and Framing process with user-centric and data-centric steps to analyze the requirements from multiple angles and identify features that can better support the mission and data. We focused on user needs and identified potential datasets which can support those user requirements. More specifically, we identified and engaged stakeholders, developed user personas, interviewed technical team members to understand the platform and security architecture, and worked with product teams and others to develop use cases for data science applications.

This project represents the incredible partnership between Omni, Secretary of the Air Force Office of Energy, Installations, and Environment (SAF/IE) and Business Enterprise Systems Product Innovation (BESPIN) to rapidly design, build, and launch through a Continuous Authority To Operate (cATO) innovative solutions needed to deliver continuous value to the United States Air Force.
