Omni announces the launch of Data as a Service (DaaS) as an operational capability on CloudOne

Omni Federal is thrilled to announce the launch of Data as a Service (DaaS) as an operational enterprise data access layer on Cloud One to enable data democratization and easy access to data for DAF applications

DaaS is an enterprise data fabric that democratizes access to data via key features for self-service, automation, API management, authorization/authentication, and security controls. It unlocks data from behind monolithic systems to enable new applications to be built to meet the critical mission needs in a reusable and repeatable manner. Examples include Digital University (DU), PCS Express, USMAP, Ready One and others.

Strategic solutions that make a difference are a priority for Omni Federal. That said, Omni has recently been awarded a SBIR Phase III IDIQ for Data as a Service (DaaS) with multiple task orders to drive data transformation for the Air Force’s Business Enterprise Systems Product Innovation (BESPIN) Directorate.

This has been a challenging but rewarding undertaking to take DaaS from concept, to prototype, to a fully operational capability implemented across multiple use-cases.

This new SBIR Phase III IDIQ will provide rapid response to Air ForceSpace Force and DoD-wide customer requirements around data access, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities using our unique solution.

DaaS will speed up development and deployment of new capabilities for our airmen and guardians. This SBIR Phase III IDIQ will drive the following key benefits, including but not limited to:

  • Elimination of duplicative efforts to access and integrate data sets
  • Reduced cyber risk
  • Improved security posture with audit trail and logging
  • Reduced cost
  • Providing economies of scale
  • Reusable and repeatable open-standards based APIs
  • Accelerated application migration to cloud

The SBIR Phase III IDIQ allows DAF to continue to extend and expand access to disparate data sources. Solving this problem at the system-level will enable DoD stakeholders to increase readiness levels, capacity, and lethality of its end-users while reducing costs.

We couldn’t be more proud and excited to lean forward and continue to drive DaaS to provide our warfighters with strategic, fast and secure data when and how they need it.
