Omni Federal designs, builds and operates data-rich applications leveraging advanced data modeling, machine learning and data visualization techniques to empower our customers to make better data-driven decisions.

Omni Federal is seeking an experienced UX Designer to join our growing team with a rich history of delivering innovative digital experiences within the Federal market. The UX Designer combines strong IA, User Research, and Product Design skills to bring digital experiences to life. Using the principles of Lean Agile and Design, he/she will collaborate closely with Omni Federal and client personnel to create an overall vision for a new portal and other digital products

The UX Designer will conceive experiences by developing an intimate understanding of users and their journeys via IA, User Flows, and wireframe design solutions. He/she will use Agile practices to constantly test, learn, and iterate towards success throughout our teams Agile process, while enabling contextual understanding across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the audiences served through user research, persona development and journey design
  • Design user flows, annotated wireframes and other artifacts that bridge the gap between design and development
  • Collaborate across the broader cross-functional team to create prototypes, utilizing insights and analytics to test, optimize and iterate
  • Create and execute tests to validate designs throughout the product lifecycle
  • Keep up with current trends and best practices in marketplace
  • Execute end-to-end design process, including personas, workflows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes

Required Skills

  • Ability to innovate while working within a process centric mindset balancing consistency with customization, reusability with diversity
  • Solid understanding of Atomic Design or Modular Design principles
  • Demonstrable understanding of IA best practices and UX design best practices
  • Demonstrable understanding of responsive / mobile design
  • Pro-active self-starter with a “can do” approach to problem solving who thrives with hard challenges and approaches problems with a data-driven mindset
  • Must be a team-oriented individual, energetic, result & delivery oriented, with a keen interest on quality and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Passion for optimizing user experience and maximizing engagement among target audiences
  • Effective communication skills, especially with developers
  • Strong presentation skills to business stakeholders
  • Understanding of Lean UX and Agile methodology
  • Ability to define structure, navigation, interaction design and processes across all digital channels
  • Ability to closely collaborate with clients and interdisciplinary team (UI, Strategy, Technology)
  • Ability track of the scope, requirements, UX strategy, feasibility and prioritization
  • Expert ability to understand and visualize multiple scenarios and user states simultaneously
  • Expert-level online portfolio that includes site maps, user flows, and hi-fidelity wireframes
Nice to Have
  • Prototyping experience using Invision, Axure, or similar tools
  • JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Omnigraffle (or equivalent), Sketch and Adobe CC
  • A/B testing, Qualitative User Testing
